Gram Ujala Scheme – For the development of rural areas, the Government of India keeps running new schemes. In this series, the Government of India started the Gram Ujala Yojana on the basis of Ujala Yojana, to increase the energy efficiency in every village. Shri Ram Kumar Singh ji has started a new scheme on 19 March 2021. Under this scheme, LED bulbs will be provided to the people living in the village at a very cheap rate. Gram UJALA Scheme

LED bulbs will be distributed in rural areas through Gram Ujala Scheme. UJALA stands for “Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All”. The scheme aims to promote energy efficiency in rural areas of the country, reduce electricity bills and contribute to a sustainable future. Along with this, the environment also has to be protected from harm. The scheme aims to reduce electricity bills of rural households and promote energy conservation. With this, due to the low price of LED, everyone will be able to buy it easily.

Under the Gram UJALA Yojana scheme, eligible rural households can buy LED bulbs at discounted rates. Along with this, appliances like fans and tube lights will also be included in the list of distribution in this scheme. This scheme is implemented by Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL). Which is a joint venture of public sector undertakings under the ministry of power of the Government of India.

High quality bulbs of 7 to 12 watts are being made available to the citizens by the central government at the rate of Rs.10 per bulb. There is a provision of giving maximum five bulbs per house hold in the scheme. In this way, five LED bulbs are given to the citizens for just Rs.50.

Registration Gram Ujala Yojana

  • For this you have to go to your Gram Panchayat or CSC (Common Service Center). The bulbs of Gram Ujala Yojana are distributed through these centres.
  • Carry your identity proof like Aadhaar card or Voter ID card and a copy of your latest electricity bill. Which is necessary to buy the bulb.
  • After which the LED bulb can be purchased from the designated center at a concessional rate of Rs.

It is important to note that this scheme is only for rural households, with this each household can buy only 5 LED bulbs under this scheme. Additionally, the plan is subject to availability, so you may check with your local center for the current status of availability.

Gram UJALA Scheme Procedure for filing complaint

You can contact the Gram Panchayat or Common Service Center (CSC) from where you have bought the LED bulbs. Report problems with bulbs and request solutions. If your problem is not solved by Gram Panchayat or CSC, then you can send it to State Nodal Agency for Gram Ujala Yojana.
