The primary objective of the Workers’ Welfare Scholarship Scheme is to encourage education for boys and girls from poor construction worker families in the state. This scheme is administered by the Workers’ Welfare Department.
The Kamgar Kalyan Scholarship also includes the Sports Scholarship Scheme and the Foreign Higher Education Scholarship Scheme, which provides scholarships to boys and girls of construction workers to complete their education.

What is the Workers Welfare Scholarship Scheme?
The Maharashtra State Government’s Kamgar Kalyan Mandal is providing financial assistance to the children of construction worker families in the state through scholarships to complete their education. In the state, children of construction worker families are deprived of education, keeping this in mind this scheme has been started.
Through the Kamgar Kalyan Scholarship Scheme, financial assistance is being provided to the children of construction worker families to pursue education. Along with this, the benefit of this scheme is also being given through the Construction Workers Sports Scholarship Scheme on achieving individual sports rank at the state/national/international level.
Under the Kamgar Kalyan Scholarship Scheme, a scholarship of Rs 2,500 per year is provided to students from class 1 to class 7 and Rs 5,000 per year is provided to students from class 8 to class 10. . Students who wish to pursue higher education abroad are being provided a scholarship of Rs. 50,000/- (fifty thousand rupees) for pursuing a Master’s degree or PhD.

Objectives of Workers Welfare Scholarship Scheme
The main objective of the Kamgar Kalyan Scholarship Scheme is to encourage education and provide financial assistance to boys and girls from the construction worker families of the state. Many laborers are unable to afford to educate their daughters. The state government has launched this scheme to address this issue.

Eligibility for Kamgar Kalyan Scholarship Scheme
Only eligible applicants will get the benefit of the Construction Workers Scholarship Scheme, for this the eligibility criteria has been issued by the Maharashtra Workers Welfare Board.
- The applicant must be registered under the Construction Workers Scheme.
- The boy or girl must be attending school or college.
- The applicant must be a resident of the state.
- The beneficiary student’s parents must be construction workers.
- School attendance must be 75% or higher to qualify for the benefit.
- A minimum of 60% marks must be obtained in the previous academic year.

To avail the benefit of scholarship, it is necessary for the boys or girls of construction workers to apply, only then they can get the benefit of this scholarship.
- To apply, visit the official website of the Workers’ Welfare Department.
- After visiting the website, go to the Scholarships section and select based on eligibility.
- After selecting a scholarship, the form will open.
- Enter all the information in the application form, such as name, address, father’s name, etc.
- In addition to entering the information, upload the documents.
- Now, double-check the information entered in the form and submit it.
